Monterey Location Opening has been One Year in the Making
Sierra Health and Wellness Centers acquired the property in 2021 and began renovations for New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey.
The Queen Anne style residence was built in 1902. And while the building had been cared for – it was beginning to show its 120 year age.
We were delighted with the building from the beginning! It is listed as a ‘Historic Home’. Victoria era architectural details are in every room.
We quickly went from ‘Let’s open asap’ – to – ‘Let’s do everything possible to restore and preserve this building!”
And like all renovations – it took a lot longer than we expected! But it was totally worth it.
NSRS Monterey Property Gets Complete Makeover
New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey renovations began in 2021 and lasted one year.
Wiring and plumbing were replaced. The wooden staircase and other wood architectural details were lovingly restored. Fireplaces and stained glass windows were cleaned and restored. Walls were repaired, cleaned and painted.
The historic 1902 house is now restored and has modern upgrades.
New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey location at 468 Pine Ave, Pacific Grove, CA is now ready for the next century.

According to Pacific Grove City records, a Cleveland banker named J.J. Osborne acquired the property in 1901.
The Queen Anne residence was designed by architect William H. Weeks. It was built in 1902 on land that enabled a scenic view of the Monterey Bay.
Mr. Osborn made it into a showplace on the Monterey Peninsula and resided there until the 1930’s.
The house has changed hands and functions over the years. In the 1950’s it became known as Pine Manor. It first served as apartments, then as a guest house. In 1961, the house was taken over by Beacon House, an addiction recovery center. The Beacon House closed in 2020.
