When we acquired the property at 468 Pine Ave in Pacific Grove – we anticipated a 6 month renovation.
However, we quickly went from ‘Let’s Open ASAP’ – to –
‘Let’s do everything possible to restore and preserve this awesome historic building!‘
The entire building has now been renovated and restored. And like all renovations – it took a lot longer than we expected!
But it was totally worth it.

Monterey Location Opening has been One Year in the Making
Sierra Health and Wellness Centers acquired the property in 2021 and began renovations for New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey.
The Queen Anne style residence was built in 1902. And while the building had been cared for – it was beginning to show its 120 year age.
We were delighted with the building from the beginning! It is listed as a ‘Historic Home’.
Victorian era architectural details are in every room.

The Historic House at 468 Pine Ave, Pacific Grove, CA
The opening of New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey at 468 Pine Ave, Pacific Grove, CA in July 2022 will mark the public return of a Monterey historic home.
The recent renovations and restorations have preserved the unique and historic architecture of the house – while modernizing the interior to accommodate expanded treatment programs and services.
The Queen Anne residence at 468 Pine Ave, Pacific Grove, CA was designed by architect William H. Weeks. It was built in 1902 on land that enabled a scenic view of the Monterey Bay.
According to Pacific Grove City records, a Cleveland banker named J.J. Osborne acquired the property in 1901. Mr. Osborn made it into a showplace on the Monterey Peninsula and resided there until the 1930’s.
The house has changed hands and functions over the years. In the 1950’s the location became known as Pine Manor. It first served as apartments, then as a guest house. In 1961, the house was taken over by Beacon House, an addiction recovery center. The Beacon House closed in 2020.
