Valley Recovery Center – Reno Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Minimum of 6 hours/day, 5 days/week.

Sometimes known as “day rehab,” the Valley Recovery Center Reno Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) allows clients to benefit from the intensive support of a traditional addiction recovery treatment program – while spending evenings at home.
PHP allows clients access to therapy, counseling, and aftercare support for a minimum of six hours per day, five days per week. Customized treatment plans are developed for each client. Rehab services are tailored to meet each client’s unique treatment goals.
Rehab treatment can include family therapy, group therapy, and individual therapy; as well as any necessary medication management services. For those in search of a creative outlet to help process their feelings about the recovery journey – art or music therapy may also be included.
However, since the Partial Hospitalization Program is less structured than residential rehab and more flexible, it is crucial that clients have a strong network of supportive friends and family who are actively involved in their recovery process.
Our caring and compassionate Valley Recovery Center staff brings decades of experience and training. We help clients understand addiction; and co-occurring disorders, such as anxiety and depression. We are dedicated to helping clients understand the nature of their disease and learn the tools necessary for a lasting recovery.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at our Valley Recovery Center, Reno location is designed to offer flexibility for our clients who must balance their recovery with work or school commitments. IOP groups are offered daily; morning, afternoon, and evening times are available.
Going far beyond the level of support offered in a traditional AA group, our Intensive Outpatient Program groups are led by Master’s level therapists with extensive experience supporting addiction recovery. The goal of our IOP program is to help each member learn to manage their behaviors, emotions, and thinking to prevent relapse from occurring.
Addiction is an isolating experience. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups play a critical role in the healing process. By sharing personal struggles with others who are also taking steps towards a clean and sober life, our clients learn that they are not alone. The peer support gives our clients the confidence needed to tackle the challenge of building a better future – clean and sober.
However, the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is not right for everyone.
- Those still actively using drugs and alcohol require a higher level of care and may need supervised medical detox.
Nevada Statewide Partnership on the Opioid Crisis
March 8, 2018 – Nevada Attorney General Adam Paul Laxalt announced the formation of a Statewide Partnership on the Opioid Crisis. The primary function of the statewide partnership is to make recommendations to the Attorney General’s Office and Nevada’s Statewide Opioid Coordinator on best practices for data sharing to combat the opioid crisis.
Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) data released Thursday shows heroin deaths have nearly tripled throughout the state since 2010. Of particular concern is a roughly 56 percent increase in deaths linked to synthetic opioids like fentanyl — a painkiller roughly 30 to 50 times more powerful than an average dose of heroin — the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Fentanyl overtook heroin as the U.S.’s deadliest substance in 2016, claiming 19,413 lives, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Drug overdoses are nationally the leading cause of accidental death for Americans under age 50, killing more than 64,000 people in 2016.
