New Start Recovery Solutions has residential and outpatient rehab programs for Veterans. Our Extended Care programs for veterans include transitional living and alumni support groups.
PTSD and trauma-informed integrated treatment at New Start Recovery Solutions works with the issues of combat stress, addiction, alcohol dependency, substance abuse, depression and other trauma-related disorders.
Our evidence-based whole person treatment includes a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, brainspotting, prolonged exposure, wellness education, mindfulness, yoga and more.
Effective addiction recovery includes the discovery and resolution of any underlying emotional or mental health issues. Our trauma-informed dual diagnosis programs (residential and outpatient) treat the whole person for long-lasting sustainable recovery from alcohol and substance abuse.

Addiction Recovery does not stop with the completion of our residential rehab program.
Many veterans experience difficulty in the transition to civilian life. Studies have shown that if a veteran has experienced trauma, significant injury or has PTSD – the chances of drug use or alcohol abuse are much higher.
After completion of one of our recovery programs, New Start Recovery Solutions Extended Care (including Transitional Living) provides a safe, supportive and structured environment for ongoing alcohol and substance use recovery.

We are in-network with TriWest – providing behavioral health, PTSD and addiction recovery treatment for veterans and those in the military.
Using evidence-based trauma informed integrated treatment – we have dual diagnosis recovery solutions for veterans struggling with PTSD and SUD (substance use disorder) or AUD (alcohol use disorder).
The VA provides care to Veterans through community providers when VA cannot provide the care needed. Community care is based on specific eligibility requirements, availability of VA care, and the needs and circumstances of individual Veterans.

VA Community Care Process
1. Eligibility – VA confirms Veteran’s eligibility to receive community care.
2. Appointments – Veteran or VA staff member schedules appointment with a community care provider.
3. Getting Care – Veteran receives care from a community care provider in the VA network.
4. Billing – Community care provider sends bill to a Third Party Administrator or to the VA for payment.
How to Access VA Community Care
Step 1: Contact the Northern California VA Health Care System for an Appointment for Addiction Assessment.
Step 2: → Get a referral for Community-based Addiction Recovery Treatment.
Step 3: Call New Start Recovery Solutions at 866-303-6275 for a confidential consultation; or to arrange detox and/or admittance to our rehab program.

Rediscovering sobriety with wellness is a joyful experience!
We believe that addiction is a complex but treatable disease – and that a ‘universal’ addiction treatment program is not appropriate for everyone. Each client receives a complete evaluation, assessment and individualized treatment plan.
Recovery treatment includes individual counseling, group counseling and individualized medication protocol (when needed). Other elements of whole person treatment are mindfulness, relapse prevention, nutrition, yoga, and meditation.
